Thelma Chalifoux Hall

In February 2016, the Design-Build Team, led by Graham Construction was retained to develop the Thelma Chalifoux Hall Student Residence. The contractual agreement was based on a Modified Design-Build agreement that established the collaborative framework for the Design-Build  process. This framework required that the University of Alberta, Graham Construction, the Mechanical and Electrical Contractors, the Architectural, Landscape, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Civil Consultants participate in the design process in a highly collaborative, fully integrated environment.

The goals for this project were to:
• Increase purpose built student residences to accommodate up to 25% of full-time students at the University of Alberta.
• Support student recruitment, retention and achievement.
• Enhance community building, student life and campus experience.
• Smart growth campus development that supports a safe, sustainable and healthy community.
• Integrate planned neighbourhood with amenities.
