BR2 Architecture has operated as a full service medium sized architectural practice in Edmonton, Alberta since 1978. The firm currently employs 20 staff to carry out a diverse range of services and projects throughout Western and Northern Canada including education, recreation, industrial and institutional projects.

 

The philosophy of the firm’s work is based upon providing innovative yet appropriate solutions to each individual project. Each commission is unique and the approach to each project is equally distinctive.

REGISTERED

ARCHITECT

Our firm is seeking a Registered Architect with minimum 5 years’ experience in managing projects and coordinating project teams. The ability to communicate with clients, partners, staff and consultants is key to this position. Our goal is select an individual who is able to work with the partner lead, develop and progress the design, and lead the project team from design through the end of construction.

 

The preferred candidate will have the skills to engage and communicate well with our clients, have strong design and presentation skills, an understanding of the technical requirements of building detailing, ability to develop specifications and have experience with on-site construction practices and reviews.

Skills and Experience:

DOCUMENT CONTROL

COORDINATOR

BR2 Architecture is seeking a Document Control Coordinator to support project teams during active coordination and construction phases. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate, organized, and timely project documentation, ensuring efficient information flow between internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.

 

Responsibilities:
– Receive, log, track, and distribute project documentation.
– Maintain accurate records of drawings, submittals, RFIs, site instructions, and meeting documentation.
– Ensure correct document versions are issued internally and externally.
– Maintain document control systems, naming conventions, and filing standards.
– Monitor outstanding items, deadlines, and required follow-ups.
– Coordinate document flow between project stakeholders.
– Prepare and issue documentation in accordance with project timelines and internal standards.
– Assist with project closeout and document archiving.
– Provide support to studio administration, including scheduling, formatting, printing, and general coordination as required.

 

Skills and Experience:
– Minimum 3 years of experience in document control, project coordination, or project administration.
– Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction environments is preferred.
– Familiarity with construction-phase documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and drawing revisions.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
– Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
– Experience with shared file environments or document management systems.
– Strong organizational, formatting, and proofreading skills.
– Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
– High attention to detail and accuracy.
– Strong communication and coordination skills.
– Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
